A dedicated 13.8V 30A switching power supply designed for amateur radio, featuring Noise Offset Control to eliminate RF interference across HF, VHF, and UHF bands.
How to Use
- Ensure the power switch is OFF before connecting to UK mains.
- Connect your transceiver's DC power cable to the rear high-current binding posts (Red to Positive, Black to Negative). Ensure tight connections to prevent voltage drop.
- Turn on the PS-30A. The display should read 13.8V.
- Power on your transceiver. If you notice an S-meter rise or 'birdie' from the PSU while tuning the HF bands, slowly turn the 'Noise Offset' knob until the noise drops out of your receiver's passband.
- For high duty-cycle modes (like FT8), ensure the rear cooling fan has at least 10cm of clearance from the shack wall.

Great power supply and does the job well for my FT-DX10. My only minor gripe is the fan gets quite loud when I am running long FT8 sessions. It cools it down quickly though, so I can't complain too much.
Replaced an old, incredibly heavy linear supply with this. It is a fraction of the weight, takes up way less desk space, and honestly, the noise floor on 80m and 40m hasn't changed a bit. Excellent value.
Using this to power a 50W VHF/UHF base station setup. The front panel meters are clear and bright. The rear binding posts are a bit close together for very thick ring terminals, but standard banana plugs fit perfectly.
